Woven Wizardry

Ikat is an extremely tricky process which produces a unique fabric. Most other fabrics are woven and then dyed, but in ikat the threads are dyed before being woven into cloth. Threads are bundled, tied with a dye–resistant material, and then dyed. The process can be repeated for more colors and complexity. For single ikat only the warp threads undergo this treatment, and the weft are left natural or dyed a solid color. In double ikat both warp and weft threads are bundled and dyed. The goal is to have a planned design come together in the woven piece. If successful, ikat produces designs with a characteristic feathery edge. This look is so prized it is often copied on machine–printed cloth, but there is no substitute for the real thing.

Deepen Cropped Overalls

Adorbs! These are so cute and comfortable. I can wear them anywhere. True to fit. I did need to move the buttons up about 1 inch or so because I am short waisted. No biggie. I am 75 years old, 5'5 and 145 lbs.

Perfect romper

So comfortable and so cute! The print and embroidery make this romper stand out from others. It's as comfortable as a pair of pajamas, but I've worn it to work (as a teacher) and out to dinner and didn't feel a bit too casual. I'm 5'2" tall and needed to move one set of buttons to tighten the strap (I ordered a petite small), and now the length and fit is perfect. This is my current go-to piece of clothing.
