Working For Independence
Artisan discussion meetings have covered a wide range of issues over the years. Recently the theme has been about the values that are most important to the women. One of the qualities that came up repeatedly in the talks was Independence. These women have fought hard for the right to make their own decisions and have their voices heard. Seema shared that for her, “Independence means being able to work and support my family and making a home and identity for myself in Mumbai.”
I have several tops I have worn for many years, well made and of excellent fabric, that wash and wear beautifully. The new four tops I purchased look perfect and I very much look forward to wearing them.
