Our wear-everywhere cooler weather tunic is medium-weight herringbone weave cotton which is batik blockprinted in black and grey. The V-neck kurta-styled top can work as a dress to layer. Hand embroidery in red hues brings accent color to the print design. Deep side slits and three-quarter length sleeves.

Ekta Cooperative Define Their Brand

Starting a cooperative requires great commitment and dedication from the prospective artisans. Ekta went through this process in 2017. There were bumps along the way as some women left and others joined, disrupting training, organizing and threatening unity. The spirit and determination of this group helped them succeed and now they have a productive group of 5 tailors, 2 embroidery artisans, one manager and one supervisor. Many are young mothers who feel optimistic about the future of their families and communities. This group is dedicated to the "Say no to plastic" program to improve the environment and neighborhood. They made cloth bags from leftover fabric to distribute in the community. They felt the following described them:

Lovely garment

This has been on of your better creations, especially due to the heavier weight of the fabric and the symmetry of the embroidery. I am enjoying it very much, though I do wish it were available in petite sizes. The neckline is slightly too low for modesty's sake and requires an underlayer. It also affects the overall fit of the garment. A lower waistline can make things a little tight around the hips. Still, this is a gorgeous garment.

I love wearing this tunic. I like the heavier weight cotton herringbone weave. Great customer service when it had a noticeable flaw in the printing, I received a replacement promptly. Definitely one of my "go to" tunics. I feel so good when I am wearing it!
